To be perfectly honest, my sister’s birthday was last week and I got incredibly jealous. I love my birthday, even though it never meets my anticipation’s desires. My birthday is in January and I want french toast!
I love french toast. I make it for Jack with french sourdough or challah bread. I love it with warm maple syrup or raspberries and fresh whipped cream.
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 slices bread of choice
3 teaspoons cinnamon separated into 6 teaspoons
Mix eggs, milk and vanilla in a shallow bowl/ dish.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon over mixture.
Dip 1 slice bread in mixture on each side.
Repeat for next 5 slices.
Butter cast iron skillet and place french toast inside.
Cook until toasty and browned on both sides.
Serve hot! ( I put the oven on at 300 and let the cooked pieces wait in the warmth).
