PB Bananie Oatmeal

Maybe you remember a few days ago I was mentioning my friend Katelyn and her words “Cool Deal Oatmeal.” Well, today is her birthday. Happy happy birthday Katelyn!
In her a honor I have added one of her favorite foods to my (and Jack’s) oatmeal! The secret ingredient is: Peanut Butter! I had never done this before, but it was really good!
Dash of salt
2 Cups water
1 Cup Oatmeal
4 TBSP Peanut Butter
2 MASHED Bananas
Boil water with salt, add oatmeal and cook. This is the standard five minute with some stirring that you usually cook oatmeal like. While its cooking get the other ingredients together. Now once the oatmeal is cooked remove it from the heat and add to it the mashed bananies and the pb, mix it in good and be thorough! Cover for two minutes and then serve! I used Santa Cruz Organic crunchy peanut butter, which has a great texture and in our meal with mashed banana, awesome!
Tonight I will be going to dinner with Miss Katelyn and I will probably be updating you on our meal!

  1. Yum. I have had peanut butter in my oatmeal before. I didn’t tell you this but, in Mexico my friend Hayley from Seattle, would put PB in her oatmeal for the extra protein. Which made sense because we weren’t eating very much meat at the time. Peanut butter too was a very scarce commodity. We purchased this PB called “Aladino”, with a little picture of an Arab wearing a turban on it. BUT the jars of peanut butter were super tiny. So I couldn’t use as much as I would have liked. BUT now in the UNITED STATES I use as much as I would like- hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated alike. The Bananas though.. are a great idea. I will start reading your blog regularly. I love you. Always, always.

  2. Yum, I enjoy a great burger too! I find the best burgers are hand pressed from 85% lean ground chuck. Mayo, lettuce, tomatoe are great on it. However, my daughter likes ketchup and ranch dressing on hers, lettuce, cheese and no tomatoe. What have you tried the bean dip/salsa on? I think it would be great on the burger.Enjoy cooking!
